Its remarkable how much the Beastie Boys contributed to the formation of my identity and I can easily say they were one of my very first favorite groups, back when all I listened to was Weird Al and They Might Be Giants and jazz on NPR and didn’t really know a thing about music, I can’t think of three more influential people than Mike D, Ad Rock and MCA, and now one of them is dead and the world is a little less wonderful. Thanks for decades of music and memories and in honor of one of the greatest rappers ever here’s a hilarious letter MCA wrote to the New York Times after they didn’t like one of his videos.
